The Premier of Anguilla spoke to Thrillist about how domain name registrations have helped to fund an ‘envy of the Caribbean’ airport, which will likely also result in cheaper flights and more tourism. The Honorable Dr. Ellis Lorenzo Webster, Premier of Anguilla, is happy. You’d also be happy if you were the head of government of one of the most absurdly beautiful places on Earth. A small island in the eastern Caribbean, just 35 square miles in area, Anguilla is home to an astonishing 33 glorious white beaches and sea so blue it almost looks fake. It’s pretty much the place you picture if told to imagine paradise. But right now Webster has another reason to be happy: Work has begun on upgrading the terminal at Clayton J. Lloyd International Airport. Plans for an airport terminal that would be “the envy of the Caribbean” have been floating about for 50 years, repeatedly thwarted as the money for it has just never been there.
